Open Gardens SA – Wattle Be Will Bee Bush Garden

Time spent as teachers in remote areas of NT fostered an interest in the native plants that fill the garden. Sawdust paths wind through bush-like planting to a grass fringed pond. Rusty steel sculptures, a covered veg garden and an orchard. Small museum area with old farming paraphernalia. See Open Gardens website for details of interesting talks and native plant sales.

Sat 26th at 11:30am – Courtney Hunter-Habbermann will talk about bush tucker, the value and protection of native vegetation and the natural environment from a local indigenous perspective.
Sun 27th at 11:30am- Brett Fitzpatrick from Fitzy’s Nursery Gawler will talk about the importance of native plants including bush tucker along with a propagation demonstration.
Sat 26th and Sunday 27th each afternoon – Butterfly Conservation SA will talk about the value and beauty of butterflies in the garden
Sun 27th from 11:00 – 2:00 – Suneetha Carter – Harpist

Entry fees:
• $10 for adults
• $8 for OGSA members
• $8 for visitors with a pensioner concession card, health care card (does not include Seniors Card)
• $8 for TAFE horticultural tertiary student concession
• Free for under 18s.
We encourage visitors to bring cash as EFTPOS facilities are not always available.
