A spectacular Adelaide Hills sloping garden with a network of winding paths through garden terraces. Captivated by the picturesque views of the densely wooded hillside across the valley and keen to create a lovely garden, the Wrights acquired the generous 1.5-acre sloping block 23 years ago.
Their new home was sited towards the top of the hill to take advantage of the superb views and to overlook the delightful garden that now spills downwards from the house. Retaining walls were added to create several level terraces linked by sets of steps and a network of paths that crisscross the slope, weaving between garden beds crammed with myriad plants.
Entry is via Bradshaw Avenue, and from this lower level, paths meander through the garden and up the slope to the top terrace, with views of the garden and surroundings.
NOTE: This garden has many steep slopes, steps, and uneven paths, so take care. Not suitable for prams or wheelchairs.
