From a vacant block ten years ago, Bostonvista has matured into a beautiful, interesting garden with fabulous views over undulating farmland to Boston Bay and Boston Island.
With stone unearthed in the house’s excavation, the owners have built 163 metres of stone walls and an amazing entrance of mosaicked steps that lead down from the home to the garden, where beds of roses, bearded iris, rosemary, lavender, poppies, succulents, and natives create a blaze of colour.
A copse of wattles has created a natural shade house for impatiens, fuchsias, ferns, hellebores, iresine, and begonias. Groups of native plants, proteas, and many varieties of succulents, some in unusual, quirky, colourful containers, are scattered throughout the drier parts of the garden.
Garden Size: 2.5 acres.
Charity: Eyre Peninsular Home Hospice Services.
Extra Activities: Morning and afternoon teas. Plant stall. Raffle. Book stall.
