Open Gardens SA – The Glasshouse Garden

The Glasshouse Garden is on an elevated hillside on a corner block with views through stringy barks to the lower foothills.
Terraces were formed to use the slope, and several informal garden rooms were created.
Entry is from the side road, and a winding path, flanked by several ‘Chanticleer’ pear trees, leads down to the front of the house to a small, pretty rose garden known as ‘The Terrace’.
An exuberant Pierre de Ronsard rose clothes the veranda wall and beyond, an arch of yellow Pandorea vine hangs over a table and chairs – one of many places to sit and enjoy the garden.
Extra Activities: Morning and afternoon tea. Plant sales.
Size: 1600 sqm
Entry: $10 adults, under 18 free and some concessions are available. We encourage visitors to bring cash as EFTPOS facilities are not always available.
